Contact Lenses in Wyomissing

At Linsey Eyecare, we are focused on giving you the best possible comfort and vision. That's why we take the time to prescribe contact lenses designed to meet the individual needs of each patient. We design lenses to target specific eye problems such as dry eyes, keratoconus, astigmatism, difficulty reading, and eye diseases. We are proud to provide specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses, soft prosthetic contact lenses, and myopia management contact lenses.
To help you better understand your contact lenses, let's take a closer look at the different types we offer at Linsey Eyecare.

Soft Lenses

Soft contact lenses are made of soft, flexible plastics that allow oxygen to pass through the cornea. These contact lenses may be easier to adjust to and are more comfortable than others. Newer soft lens materials include silicone-hydrogels, which provide more oxygen to your eye while you wear your lenses. Soft lenses also conform to the shape of your eye, which helps them to stay in place well, making it an optimal choice if you participate in sports or lead an active lifestyle.
Soft contact lenses are available in single vision, astigmatism/toric, bifocal/multifocal, disposable daily, disposable biweekly, disposable monthly, clear, tinted, color, or Transitions.

Hard Lenses

Rigid gas permeable or hard contact lenses provide clear, crisp vision for most vision problems. These lenses might be especially appealing if you have tried soft lenses and were unsatisfied with the results. Unlike soft lenses, hard contact lenses are more breathable, which helps to reduce the risk of eye infections. Most hard contact lenses must be removed for cleaning and disinfection every night before you go to bed.  If your prescription does not change and you take care of your lenses, you can potentially use the same pair of lenses for up to two or three years.

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are large diameter hard lenses that provide excellent vision and comfort. For patients with irregular corneas, dry eyes, keratoconus, or corneal scars, the lenses provide better vision than glasses. Scleral lenses are designed to not touch the cornea of the eye at all. Rather the lenses are fluid filled and rest on the whites of the eyes, bypassing and protecting injured corneas. The process for designing scleral lenses is highly individualized, and patients return to the office several times over the course of three months to ensure an ideal fit.

Myopia Management

Myopia is nearsightedness, a condition caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. High myopia is associated with multiple eye diseases. Myopia Managment refers to methods used to slow the progression of myopia in kids so that their glasses or contact lens prescriptions don't get too high. At Linsey Eyecare, we provide myopia management with soft multifocal lenses that have been shown to limit the worsening of myopia in children. The lenses are intended to be worn daily and removed at night. They are available as daily disposable or monthly disposable. The earlier myopia management is initiated, the better, and our technicians are happy to teach children to safely care for their lenses.

Soft Prosthetic Lenses

Soft prosthetic contact lenses are breathable soft color contact lenses that last a year, with proper care. They are custom-tinted, enabling us to match your natural eye color or change it. Soft prosthetic lenses can mask discoloration and misshapen pupils and can be designed to reduce glare and light sensitivity. These lenses are available in a wide range of prescriptions and parameters.

I have been coming to Linsey Eyecare for years and have always had the best experience, specifically with eyecare and contact lenses.

The selection was everything I heard it was. Thanks for a great experience.

Bought 2 pairs of glasses. The office was clean and the staff was extremely helpful. I would recommend this to anyone.
